MAN´S SEARCH FOR MEANING

Hello! I´m going to talk about this great book written by the Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Emil Frankl (1946).

Have you ever thought that your life don´t have meaning?

Maybe, you don´t have work, you don´t know what do you want study, or you just are living with a lot of problems. If so, this book will help you a little.

The story is about Viktor´s experiences as an concentration camp prisoner during second world war.
He divides his experiences in the concentrations camp into three parts: "Internment in the field“    "Life in the Concentration Camp” “After the release”.

Today I´m going to adapt it with our daily life.

The first part is when you are entering in a problem Consciously or unconsciously and you have hope that this problem will be overcome.
Seond, is one of the hardest part, because the problem or problems make you think that you will never overcome them. Maybe you lost someone, you have many debts or a terminal disease.

Te last is when you are overcome the problems but you don´t feel good.

Viktor seys that the only form to overcome the problems is finding the meaning of your life. And how do it, well you have to try find humor in each thing even though it is too bad.
Also, you have to imagine that the future will be better than today and be prepare for the future is not like you expected.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Tis is not my experience, is my uncle´s experience he had serious problems with the alcoholist drinks.

He tells me that everything started with one beer, then another and another. Until in a little while he almost lost everything he had, but in a moment, he thought that he was destroying his life and his family. So, everytime that he wanted drink beer he thought in his family and tried to not do it.
He says that was really hard but imaginne a future with is family, a better future, helped him to overcome his problem.

I share with you a power point presentation and vocabulary from book:

  5. Hi Pedro, Your book is very interesting, it often seems that life has no meaning because of the different circumstances of life, but with the help of God we can go ahead and see situations as an opportunity for something better.
